Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and breakdown repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment (including but not limited to programmable controls, numeral controls, motor, production machines, power supplies, drives, gauges, and other various equipment) to minimize equipment down time and perform small project activities. 
• Plan and coordinate schedules of preventative maintenance for equipment, machinery, and tools with departmental heads.
• Conduct preventative maintenance for production equipment as scheduled.

• Communicate effectively with department heads and management, as well as equipment operators, regarding machine status.

• Initiate requisitions for parts and supplies for repairing equipment.
• Work safely by using proper lock-out tag-out procedures.
• Install and repair electrical systems and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
• Regularly check safety bars, emergency stops, and guards on machinery, making repairs as needed.

• Read blueprints, schematics, and drawings. 
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment, responsible for proper waste disposal. 
• Perform additional duties as assigned support company goals.

Qualifications:

• Well-rounded in electrical and mechanical knowledge in mechanical, electronic, and electrical components. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is strongly preferred.
• Experience and/or training in industrial electronics and electrical components.
• Machine shop skills
• Preferred electrical experience for the following tasks:
  • Install wire and conduit for newly installed and existing equipment such as conveyors, programmable controllers, and corrugating machinery.
  • Replace faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors, and position sensing devices. 
  • Diagnose and repair/replace faulty electronic components
  • Troubleshoot drives, i.e. AC and DC
  • Read electrical block diagrams, schematics as well as PLC ladder logic
• Desire to produce quality work as part of a team
• Ability to read and speak English
• Must be able to pass an advanced industrial skills and instrumentation/electrician knowledge test prior to interview process
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software and Internet usage.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to perform basic math functions such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and communicate information effectively.
• Strong critical thinking skills.
• Professionalism and attention to accuracy and thoroughness.
• Adaptability and excellent attitude.
• Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
• Experience working in a production environment preferred; printing industry experience (screen, digital, pad, CNC etc.) is a plus.
